A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, TO ANNEX BY ORDINANCE
A PORTION OF 74TH AVENUE WEST SITUATED IN SNOHOMISH
COUNTY WHICH ROADWAY IS CONTIGUOUS TO THE EXISTING
CITY LIMITS, AND SETTING A DATE FOR PUBLIC HEARING
OF SAID ANNEXATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds, Washington,
for strictly municipal purposes, finds it in the public interest for
the purpose of maintenance of utilities and entrance identification
that the following described property should be annexed to the
City of Edmonds and that a public hearing should be called to hear
arguments for and against said intention, and,
WHEREAS, said property proposed to be annexed is owned partially
by Gordon Lindstrom, and partially by the City of Edmonds, Washington,
and that the property owners have executed and filed with the City
a petition for annexation of said property to the City of Edmonds, a
Notice of Intention to commence annexation proceedings and a petition
in the form of a resolution from said property owners, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON:
Section 1: It is the intention of the City Council of the
City of Edmonds to extend its corporate limits to include the following
described property all being situate in Snohomish County which is
contiguous to the existing corporate limits of the City of Edmonds
which parcel is legally described as follows:
That portion of that certain strip of land 33 feet
in width in the NW 1/4 of Section 32, Township 27
North, Range 4 East, W.M., described in instrument
recorded under Auditor's File No. 230959 and previously
known as Pacific Northwest Traction Company right -of -way
which lies southerly of 228th Street SW and not previously
annexed; TOGETHER with parcel of land described as follows:
Beginning on the westerly shore of Lake Ballinger at a
point 240.0 feet north of the south line of Government
Lot 5; thence Southerly 120.0 feet; thence Westerly to the
east line of the Pacific Northwest Traction Company right -
of -way; thence Northerly 120.0 feet; thence Easterly to the
point of beginning.
Section 2: All persons who may desire to object to the proposed
annexation herein mentioned are hereby notified to appear at the City
Council Chambers at the Edmonds Civic Center in the City of Edmonds,
Washington, at a meeting of said Council on the 25th day of September,
1979, at the hour of 7:30 p.m. of said day, then and there to present
their objections thereto, if any they have.
Section 3: The City clerk is hereby directed to publish and
post notice of said hearing.
