A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CO- SPONSORSKIP OF A COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE LOCAL SHARE
OF THE COST OF LAKE BALLINGER REHABILITATION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds recognizes the
need and desirability to participate in the estimated $88,000 local
share of the estimated $880,000 cost of rehabilitating Lake Ballinger;
and
WHEREAS, an Interlocal Agreement is being considered whereby
responsibilities and local costs for such rehabilitation would be shared,
pending funding assistance from the Environmental Protection Agency and
the State Department of Ecology; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section l: That the City Council of the City of Edmonds does
hereby support and agrees to co- sponsor the attached Housing and Community
Development Block Grant Application in the amount of $88,000 for the
local share of the cost of rehabilitating Lake Ballinger; and
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Edmonds may.
at a future date - consider entering into an Interlocal Agreement for
the sharing of responsibilities and costs for such rehabilitation; and
Section 3: That, the City of Mountlake Terrace is authorized
to provide or and on behalf of and in cooperation with the co- sponsors
of the Lake Ballinger Rehabilitation Program, any information or docu-
mentation as may be required in connection with the foregoing application,
and in particular to demonstrate the applicability of the program to
the benefit of low and moderate income persons.
