Resolution 405m RESOLUTION NO. 405 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, STATING ITS INTENT TO PARTICIPATE WITH THE CITY OF LYNNWOOD IN THE COST OF INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF OPTICOM EQUIPMENT AT THE INTERSECTION OF HIGHWAY 99 AND 212TH STREET SOUTHWEST A PORTION OF WHICH INTERSECTION IS LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS. WHEREAS, the installation of opticom equipment to allow emergency equipment, including fire trucks, aid cars and police vehicles, to regulate the traffic signals as said emergency vehicles approach the intersection has been an ongoing project for the City of Edmonds, and WHEREAS, the intersection of Highway 99 and 212th Street Southwest, portions of which intersection is located both in the City of Lynnwood and the City of Edmonds, is necessary for the public health, safety and general welfare and to permit and facilitate emergency vehicle response time, now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: 1. The City of Edmonds agrees to participate on an equal basis with the City of Lynnwood for the installation of opticom equipment at the intersection of Highway 99 and 212th Street Southwest, at an estimated total cost of $5,000 from each jurisdiction. The City further states its intent to agree to a one -half (1/2) of the cost of maintenance after installation which is estimated to be the range of $60 to $75 per month. 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a contract to accomplish the purposes set forth in this resolution. APPROVED: i MAYOR, H. H.
