Resolution 385i RESOLUTION 385 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CO- SPONSORSHIP OF A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION FOR A SOUTHWEST SNOHOMISH COUNTY PARAMEDIC PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds, Washington recognizes the need and desirability to participate in a forum for cooperative decision making by agencies of local jurisdictions within the Southwest Snohomish County area, in order to bring about a start -up and continuous budget program process for a Paramedic Program; and WHEREAS, an Interlocal Agreement would permit the establishment of said forum by enabling local agencies to exercise jointly any power or powers, privileges or authority exercised or capable of exercise by a unit of the local agencies; and WHEREAS, an Interlocal Agreement is proposed to be prepared by a committee and approved by the full assembly of local agencies; said document establishing a Southwest Snohomish County Paramedic Program having delegated authority and purposes consistent with the needs of local agencies of the Southwest Snohomish County area; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS: Section'l. That the City Council of the City of Edmonds, Washington does hereby support and agrees to co- sponsor the attached Housing and Community Development Block Grant Application in the amount of $373,125.60, for twenty- .one months funding of the program; and Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Edmonds, Washington proposes at a future date to consider entering into an Interlocal Agreement establishing the Southwest Snohomish County Paramedic Program; and -1- t Section 3. That the City of Mountlake Terrace, Washington is authorized to provide for and on behalf of and in cooperation with the co- sponsors of the Southwest Snohomish County Paramedic Program, any information or documentation as may be required in connection with the foregoing application, and in particular to demonstrate the applicability of the program to the benefit of low and moderate income persons.
