Resolution 3701 RESOLUTION NO. 370 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR GRANT FOR SEWAGE COLLECTION WORKS EXPANSION AND EXTENSION PURSUANT TO TITLE I, PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYMENT ACT OF 1976. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds, Washington, a third class city, has approved a comprehensive sewerage plan entitled, "Engineering Report on Comprehensive Sewerage Plan for the City of Edmonds, Washington, June 1965," and has adopted the same by ordinance, and WHEREAS, under the provisions of Title I, Public Works Employment Act of 1976, which is entitled, "Local Public Works Capital Development and Investment Act of 1976," municipalities are eligible for certain federal grants to aid in financing construction, expansion and extension of public works facilities, including utilities, and WHEREAS, the City of Edmonds is extensively bordered on the west by Puget Sound, and WHEREAS, it is necessary in the interest of protecting the health, safety and general welfare of the City of Edmonds and to prevent pollution of Puget Sound that the Edmonds Sewage Collection System be expanded and extended, now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: The Mayor and /or City Engineer is authorized to make formal application for available grants for construction and expansion of 13V the Edmonds Sewage Collection System, pursuant to Title I, Public Works Employment Act of 1976, administered by the Economic Development Administration in coordination with the Washington State Department of Ecology and the United States Environmental Protection Agency, and enter into such agreements as necessary to comply with the rules and regulations of said administering and gr.aWng agencies.
