A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTION, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO APPLY TO THE WASHINGTON
STATE AMERICAN REVOLUTION BICENTENNIAL COMMISSION FOR 50 PER-
CENT MATCHING FUNDS FOR THE MOVING AND RELOCATION OF A.HISTORIC
LOG CABIN.
WHEREAS, a log cabin of historical value, originally hand
constructed by the forebearers of a long -time resident of this
vicinity, has been offered to the City without charge, and
WHEREAS, the log cabin is of historical value to the City
and its citizens, and
WHEREAS, in order to preserve said cabin, it is necessary
to incur certain expenses for the moving and. relocation of the
same, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the Mayor and Recreation Director are hereby
authorized to proceed with and execute all necessary documents
for the preparation and filing of a grant application with the
Washington State American Revolution Bicentennial Commission to
obtain 50 percent matching funds for the moving and relocation
of the historic log cabin located in the vicinity of 8524
188th Place Southwest, within said City.
2. That it is the intent of the City of Edmonds to
participate in the cost and expense of moving and relocating
this historic log cabin to the extent of 50 percent of the
estimated cost of the same, the total cost of which is $9,600.00.
3. That the Parks and Recreation Director is hereby
authorized and directed to transmit a certified copy of this
resolution to the Washington State American Revolution Bicen-
tennial Commission.
