A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
COMMENDING KENNETH 0. WELLING FOR HIS SERVICES
TO SAID CITY AND THE CITIZENS THEREOF.
WHEREAS, it is appropriate and desirable that a community
award public recognition for outstanding public service rendered
by individual citizens, and
WHEREAS, said Kenneth 0. Welling has diligently served the
City of Edmonds and the citizens thereof as a member of the
Mayor's Citizen Liaison Committee and also as a member of the
Edmonds Library Board from 1970 until his acceptance of an
appointment to the Edmonds City Council, and
WHEREAS, said Kenneth 0. Welling was appointed on December 4:,
1973 to fill out the unexpired term of former Councilman Donald
Tuson, and
WHEREAS, said Kenneth 0. Welling was reappointed on January
15, 1974 to fill the term of former Councilm.an Donald Tuson until
the next municipal election scheduled for the fall of 1975, and
WHEREAS, said Kenneth 0. Welling voluntarily retired fror. his
position as Councilman and elected not to run for the position and
continue to serve in such capacity, much to the regret of his
fellow City officials, and
WHEREAS, during the time so spent by said Kenneth 0. Welling
he devoted himself unselfishly and without financial renumeration
to the spirt of bettering the community, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds, and the
officers and employees of said City deem it only fitting that a
comendation should be issued herewith for the time and effort so
spent by said Kenneth 0. Welling and that said comendation should
be made a part of the permanent records of said City of Edmonds,
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, that said Kenneth 0. Welling be and is hereby comended
for his unselfish dedication to the City of Edmonds and the citizens
thereof and for his guidance for the future and better development
of said City,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be
furnished to said Kenneth 0. Welling and an additional_ copy be
entered in the permanent records of this City in order that the
citizens be forever aware of the high esteem and respect in which
Kenneth O. Welling has been, is and will be held for evermore.
RESOLVED by the City Council this 16th day of December, 1975.
