A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
COMMENDING GARY NELSON FOR HIS SERVICE TO SAID
CITY AND THE CITIZENS THEREOF.
WHEREAS, it is appropriate and desirable that a community
award public recognition for outstanding public service rendered
by individual citizens, and
WHEREAS, said GARY NELSON �•ras first appointed to the Edmonds
Planning Commission on May 2, 1967, and
WHEREAS, said GARY NELSON served as a member of the Planning
Commission until November 21, 1967, at which time, following his
election to a position on the City Council, he resigned, and
WHEREAS, said GARY NELSON was elected to serve as a member
of the Edmonds City Council on November 7, 1967, and has served
as a City Councilman until the date of his resignation on November
15, 1974, and
WHEREAS, said GARY NELSON has been and is held in great
esteem by those members of the City Council with whom he has
served for some seven years, both as a member of the City Council
and during the past two years as a member of the House of Represen-
tatives of the Legislature of the State of Washington, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds, and the
officers and employees of said City, deem it only fitting that a
commendation should be issued herewith for the time and effort and
unwaivering and dedicated service by said GARY NELSON for the
benefit of the City and its citizens and that said commendation
should be made a part of the permanent records of said City of
Edmonds, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, that said GARY NELSON be hereby commended for his
unselfish dedication to the City of Edmonds and the citizens there -,
of and for his guidance for the future and better development of
said City, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be
furnished to said GARY NELSON and an additional copy be entered
in the permanent records of this City in order that the citizens
be forever aware of the high esteem and respect in which GARY
NELSON has been, is, and will be held forevermore.
RESOLVED by the City Council this 19th day of November, 1974.
