A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
TRANSFERRING CERTAIN FUNDS FROM THE CONTINGENCY
FUND TO THE GENERAL FUND FOR MAYOR --COUNCIL
EXPENSES.
WHEREAS, RCW 35A.12.070 provides that the Mayor shall
receive reimbursement for his actual and necessary expenses
incurred in the performance of the duties of his office; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 35A.12.100 the Mayor shall
be the official and ceremonial head of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds has
determined that it is in the best interests of the City to
enter into a "sister city" agreement with Himeji, Japan, and
WHEREAS, ceremonies are to be held in said sister city
establishing this relationship and
WHEREAS, the study of public facilities, park development,
public transportation and the promotion of trade and cultural
exchange of said sister city is in the public interest, now,
therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS HEREBY RESOLVES
AS FOLLOWS:
The Finance Director be and the same hereby is directed
to transfer from the Contingency Fund No. 619 to the General
Fund No. 001 Department 001 Mayor --Council the sum of $1,400

for the purpose of paying the actual and necessary expenses incurred
by the Mayor in the performance of his duties as set forth in the
recitals contained hereinabove.
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Edmonds
February 27, 1973.
