A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON COMMENDING JIM HAINES FOR
HIS SERVICES TO SAID CITY AND THE CITIZENS
THEREOF.
WHEREAS, it is appropriate and desirable that a community
award public recognition for outstanding public service rendered by
individual citizens, and
WHEREAS, said JIM HAINES was appointed to the Planning
Commission nearly a decade ago and thereafter accepted an appointment'
to serve the City Council over five years ago, and
WHEREAS, said JIM HAINES served with great distinction as an
able working member of the City Council and was reelected by the people
of the City of Edmonds to serve another term on said City Council, and
WHEREAS, he has now accepted an, appointment to serve as the
Snohomish County Assessor, and, to the disappointment of his fellow
members of the City Council of the City of Edmonds has voluntarily
retired from the City Council of the City of Edmonds, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds, and the
officers and employees of said City deem it only fitting that a commenda-
tion should be i8sued herewith for the time aryl effort so spent by
JIM HAINES and that said commendation should be made a part of the
permanent records of said City of Edmonds, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, that JIM HAINES be hereby commended for
his unselfish dedication to the City of Edmonds and the citizens thereof
and for his guidance for the future and better development of said City,
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be
furnished to the said JIM HAINES and an additional copy be entered in
the permanent records of this City in order that the citizens be forever
aware of the high esteem and respect in which JIM HAINES has been, is
and will be held forevermore.
RESOLVED by the City Council this 6th day of March, 1973.
