A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
EXPRESSING CONCURRENCE WITH THE CONCEPT FOR
PLANNING AND COORDINATING OF PROGRAMS AND
SERVICES FOR SENIOR CITIZENS.
WHEREAS, The City is advised that the Washington
State Office on Aging, has designated Snohomish County as an
official planning and service area, and
WHEREAS, coordination of planning, programs and
services for older persons may be facilitated by overall
centralization and supervision, and
WHEREAS, the City has advised that the designation
of a single official agency within the planning and service
area would accomplish said coordination, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS:
That the Snohomish County Senior Services,under
the auspices of the Recreation Department of Snohomish County,
be recognized as the official planning agency for aging for
the Snohomish County planning and service area. Provided,
however, this resolution shall not be construed as a grant of
authority to said Snohomish County Senior Services to act in
the name of the City of Edmonds, nor to make application for
state or federal matching funds or grants, without the prior
1 consent and express authorization of the City.
• RESOLVED by the City Council of the Citycf Edmonds,
Washington, at its regular meeting held on the 22nd day of
May, 1973.
