RESOLUTIONS DECLARING THE TOWN OF EDMOLDS TO BE A CITY OF THE
THIRD CLASS.
Whereas, on the Fifth day of August A.D. 1908, a petition was
duly presented to the Council, signed by One Hundred (100) Free-
holders, as required by law, setting forth that the said petitioners
desired the Town of Edmonds to be advanced to a City of the Third
Class, and that said Town had the requisite population for such ad-
vancement; and C,' Ao'v
Whereas, this. Council, on the Sixth day of August A.D.1908,
ordered a census to be taken of -all the inhabitants of the Town of/Y� f
Edmonds, in all things as required by law; and i
Whereas, on the Twentieth day of August A.D.1908, the report.-
of said census, duly verified, was filed with the Clerk of said ,
Town and laid before the Council; and
Whereas, it appearing from such census that Edmonds contains'
the requisite population for such advancement, towit; 1546 and
Mhereas, ,pursuant to the order of this Council, and the call
of the Mayor, on the Fifth day of 8-eptember A.D. 1908, a special
,election was held at which election qualified electors withit:the
corporate limits of the Town of Edmonds, voted for or against such
advancement, and it appearing from the returns of the election Board
of said special election, that a majority of said qualified electors
voted for such advancement.
Now, therefore, be it
Resolved, by the Council of the Town of Edmonds, State of
Washington, and this Council hereby declares that the inhabitants
of said Town have decided to advance to a City of the Third Class,
and the Clerk is hereby directed to certify this Resolution to the
Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners, as required by law.
