Be it ordained by the Council of the town of Edmonds. dWt)-f SECTION 1. Cattle, horses, mules, swine, sheep, goats and /vi- 0-0- other animals of such species shall not be permited to run at onj c,t large within the following limits of the town of Edmonds, viz.: A) '-'iLt n' Beginning at a point at low water mark west of and opposite a`re�. , the section line between sections twenty-three (23) and twenty- :j f our (24), twenty --five (25), and twenty-six (26), Township twenty - 'vd Ucl seven (27), Range Three (3) East, thence East on said section line f , to the Nathwest corner of the Northeast 7 quarter (.6 , of North- east Quarter (!) of Section twenty-six (26); thence south 1 eighty rods (80), thence east one hundred and sixty (160) rods, thence north eighty rods (80), thence east one hundred and sixty (160) rods, thence north one hundred and sixty (1v0) rods; thence west one hundred and sixty (160) rods, thence north eighty (80) rods, thence west to low water line, thence south westerly along the low water line to placeof beginning, the boundaries to be the boundaries of the town of Edmonds. 6J Le SECTION 2: The town marshal or any police officer of said �j, . k pNiyLUt own shall take up and impound any of the aforesaid animals found F�,(running at large within the limits described in Section 1 of this xt,a tlp z' Ordinance; and for each day or part of a day that any such animal .. shall be impounded, the owner thereof shall pay to the town marshal fifty cents for the care and keeping thereof and the fur- ther sum of two and 50/100 dollars as an impounding fee. SECTIONS 3: If at the expiration of two days the amount 0due -sue shall not be maid, the town marshal shall proceed to give at �c C.Q. least, five days notice, to be published inthe official newspaper ,.c74C­ of the town of the time and place when and where he will expose the said animal or animals to sale by public auction, at which time and which time and place he shall at public auction expose b the said animal or animals to sale, and out of the proceeds shall pay all the expenses aforesaid and all.other necessary expenses, and pay the residue to the Town Treasurer. The said notice shall describe the said animal or animals with reasonable certainty and shall state to whom, if anyone, the town marshal supposes said animal or animals belong, and if such owners' name is wholely unknown to the Town marshal, that fact shall be stated in said notice. If such owner shall be known to the town marshal and can be found within the town, a copy of said notice shall be served upon him at least one day prior to the sale. SECTION 4: The town marshal shall file with the clerk with- }� I writing, setting forth -- in five days after such sale, a report �n r g, g all the above matters touching any such sale, such report shall be signed by him and ( as affecting the validity of any such sale To shall be absolutely conclusive of the facts therein stated. SECTION 5: For all services not provided for in this Ordi:= nance, the town marshal shall be allowed the usual fees for Simi- Lf, lar services payable out of the proceeds of sale. SECTION 6: The owner of such animal or animals may have theRA�,_Gt,,, same delivered to him at any time before the sale, by pairing all _ V/oi accrued expenses; or at any time after such sale, on aWlication-� to the torn Council such owner shall be entitled to a warrant on the Treasurer for any surplus of such sale paid to said Treasurerff�"a_-'1/ without interest. SECTION 7: The owner of any such animal or animals may re--l�edy deem the same at any time within thirty days after the sale by'� paying to the purchaser the amount paid by him for such animal, and in addition thereto one percent per month therefor.
