Ordinance 0033�K * W * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ORDIA"CE ffo.33. An -Ordinance to provide for the payment of Interest on Town Warrants. Be it ordained by the Council of the Town of Edmonds. r SECTION 1: Whenever any Town Warrant shall be presented to the Lail,'Torn Treasurer for payment, and the same cannot be paid for the reason that there is no money in the hands of the Town Treasurer to pay the same, said Treasurer shall write or print across the back of said Warrant, the date it was presented and that it is not paid for want of funds to pay the same, and sign his name to such en- dorsement, -and whenever any Warrant is so endorsed the sum shall from that date of such endorsement bear interest at the rate of ten percent per annum until paid. SECTIOii 2: The Town shall procure for the Treasurer a well bound book in which he shall enter the number of the Warrant, the date when drawn, the amount and the date when presented for payment . SECTION 3: All Warrants shall be paid in the order in rL-which they are registered, and on the first day of each month the UI Town Treasurer shall give notice what Warrants he can pay, giving M�the number and date of the Warrant and if not presented for paymeit , within ten days after the date mentioned in said notice that no 07 interest after said date will be allowed or paid on said Warrants; said notice may be published in a newspaper, if one is published in said Town or posted at the de*r of the lost Office in said Town.
