Ordinance 0051ORDINANCE "0. 51. /Z/f- ei � " •2 � } An Ordinance to prevent animals from rurring at large within certain limits of the Town of Edmonds. Be it ordained by the Council of the Town of Edmonds. SECTION 1: Bulls and vicious cows, horses (excepting draft horses and draft mules) swine, sheep, goats and other animals of such species, shall not be permitted to run at large within the t�d� following limits of the Town of Edmonds: towit: Beginning at apoint at the low water mark west of and opposite of the section lin-e betweer sections 23, 24, 25, 26, Township 27, , Range 3 East; thence East on said Section line to the Northwest `6n n� corner of the Northwest Quarter of the -,ortheast (quarter of Section 26; thence South 60 rods; thence East 160 Rods, thence North 80 4M4 Rods, thence East 160 Rods, thence North 160 Rods, thence West 1604 Rods, thence North 160 Rods, thence. -West 160 Rods, thence North 80 Rods, thence West to love water line; thence Southwesterly along the low water line to place of begin ing. SECTION 2: The Torn Marshal or any public officer of sand Town shall take up and impound any and all of the aforesaid d4l�l / animals found running at large within the limits described in Section One of this Ordinance and for each day or part of a day that any such animals shall be impounded, the owner thereof shall pay to the Town Marshal fifty cents for the care and keeping of each animal, and the further sum of fifty cents as 'Impounding fee. SECTION 3: If at the expiration of two days the amount so due shall not be paid, the Town Marshal shall proceed to give at least five days' notice to be published in the official newspaper of the Town of the time and place, when and where he will expose the said animal or animals for sale by public auction, at which time and at which place he shall at public auction expose the said animal or animals for sale, and out of the proceeds thereof he shall pay all the expenses aforesaid and all other necessary ex- penses, and he shall pay the residue to the Town Treasurer. The said notice shall describe the said animal or animals with cer- tainty, and shall state to whom, if anyone, the said Town Marshal 54 supposes the owner's name be stated in Town Marshal notice shall sale. said animal or animals belong, and if said owner or is wholely unknown to said Marshal, that fact shall said_ngtice. If such owner shall be known to the and can be found within the.Town, a copy of such be served upon him at least one day prior to said SECTION 4: The Town Marshal shall file with the Clerk within five days after such; sale, a report in writing setting forth all the above matters tojaching any such sale.; such report shall be signed by said Marshal and said report shall be conclusive of the facts therein stated,. SECTION 5: For all services not provided for in this Ordi- rfr�.�• Oaace the town -Marshal shall be allowed the usual fees for similar services payable out of the proceeds of said sale. SECTIOA 6: The owner of such animal or animals may have the same delivered to him at any time before thesale by paying all accrued expenses; or at any time after such sale"on application to the Town Council,isuch owner shall be entitled to a warrant on the Treasurer for any surplus of such sale which may have been paid to the said Treasurer. !e SECTION 7: The owner of any such animal or animals, may re- deem the same at anytime within thirty days after the sale, by paying to the purchaser thereof, the full amount paid by him for such animal and in addition thereto, one percent per month on the amount so paid.
