An Ordinance regulating the rate of speed of steam railway —
trairs within the corporate limits of the Town of Edmonds, Wash.
The Town ;ourcil of the Town of Edmonds do ordain as follows:
SECTIOL 1: It shall be unlawful for any steam railway com-
;�i pary or corporation or officer, Conductor, Engineer, Fireman or
Brakeman of airy such railway company or corporation or any person
whatsoever to ,Hove or cause to be moved, or -suffer ,"or` permit t-o - be
saved, airy' locomotive, tender, car: --or train Df cars over, along
or across ar_y street, - averue or ` alley within:: the corporate limits
of the iorn of Edmonds -at a._ greater rate. of- speed than ter (10) miles
per hoar.

SECTION 2: Every Officer, conductor, engineer, firenan or
brakeman of any such railway company or corporation, or ary per --
son whatsoever who shall violate the provisions of Section 1 of
this Ordinance, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon
conviction thereof shall be adjudged to pay a fine of not less
than Ten ($10.00) Dollars and ?-got exceeding One Hundred ( 100.00)
Dollars, and the costs of prosecution or in default of the pay- 7zt
ment of said fine erd costs be imnrisoned for a period of time
not exceeding one day for each three dollars of said fine and
costs. Passed August 6th, 1901. Approved August 6th, 1901.
