The City Council of the City of Edmonds do ordain as follows: SECTION 1: It shall be unlawful for any person or persons �] ry conducting, owning or maintaining any building,.room or place U 2!�~ cohere pool, billiards, cards or other games of chance are played, •dam either for money,prizes,cigars, cardy.or other consideration whatever, to permit or allow in any way whatever any boy or girl, under the age of eighteen years to play any game of pool, billiards, cards or other game of chance whatever in ary of the places enumer- ated in this Section. SECTIOl, 2: Any person or persons who shall violate the pro- visions of Section 1 of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemear_or, and upor corviction thereof shall be fined in any sum rot to exceed Twenty Five ($25.00) Dollars, or by imprisonment �J in the City jail rot exceeding ten days, or by both such fine and U imprisonment. 0 SECTIOU 3: It shall be the duty of any person or persors owning, operating or mairtair..ing any place where pool, billiards, rcards or other games of cha.r_ce are played, to ascertain the age 00 0,.�, or ages of any minor or nirors offering to play such game from sources other than from such minor or minors; and it shall be no defense for persons charged with the violation of this Ordinance to prove that any minor or minors misrepresented his or their age. SECTION 4: It shall be unlawful for any minor under the age of eighteen years to play any game of pool, billiards, cards or other game of chance whatever, whether for money, cigars, tobacco, candy or ary other consideration whatever. a .-Passed January 28th, 1909.
