ORDUAICE EO.236.
An Ordinance repealing Ordinance l o.234 of the Ordinances
of the City of Edmonds, entitled "An Ordinance providing for the
sale and delivery of the funding Bonds of the City of Edmonds
authorized by the vote of the people of said City at the special
election held in said City on the 7th day of October 1911, for
that purpose, and authorizirg and directing the Mayor and Clerk
of said City to execute and deliver to Messrs. Carstens & Earles
of Seattle, Washington, the full issue of said Bonds authorized
by said electors at said election at the price and upon the
terms herein mentioned, and as agreed upon under the terms of a
contract heretofore entered into with said parties on the 21st
day of June 1911,^and providing for the forfeiture of the certi-
fied check of Five Hundred Dollars deposited with the City Clerk
of said City as a pledge to insure the performance of said con-
tract, and directing the City Clerk to deposit the same with the
City Treasurer to be credited to the current expense fund.
The City Council of the City of Edmonds do ordain as follows:
SECTIOIF 1: That Ordinance ho.234 of the .Ordinance of said
City, entitled "An Ordinance providing for the sale and delivery
of the funding Bonds ' of the City of Edmonds authorized by the
vote of the people of said City at the special election held in
said City on the 7th day of October 1911, for that purpose, and
authorizing and directing the Mayor and Clerk of said dity to
execute and deliver to Messrs. 'Carstens & Earles of Seattle, Wash,
ington, the full issue of said Bonds authorized by said electors
at the said election at the price and upon the terms herein men-
tioned, and as agreed upon under the terms of a contract hereto-
fore entered into with said parties on the 21st day of June 191111,
be and the same is hereby repealed.
SECTIO 2: That the certified check of Five Hundred Dollars

Earles as a pledge to secure the performance on their part of the
terms of said contract of purchase of said furling Bonds, and
f which the said parties have given notice of default on their part
be and the same is hereby declared forfeited to the City of Ed-
monds, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to write across said
check "Forfeited to the City of ,Edmonds, City Clerk, in red ink,
and to deliver the same to the City Treasurer, and the City Tre.a
urer is hereby directed to convert the same into cash and to
credit the amount thereof to the current expense fund of said City.
SECTION 3: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
by virtue of its passage and approval, and its _ biication in ac-
cordance with the law.
