Ar Ordinance compelling property owners, lessees, occupants,
' agents, or other perspns having charge of any lot, lots or parcel
of land to out down or destroy any noxious weeds, thistles,nettles,
etc., to be found thereon and to the center of the streets, alleys,
or highways bordering upon such property.
The City Council, of the City of Edmonds do ordain as follows:
SECTIOT' 1: It shall be unlawful for any owner, lessee, occu-
part, agert or other person having the care of charge of any lot,
lots or parcel of land withir the City limits of the City of Ed-

to grow thereon or on any street, alley or highway bordering on
such property, to the center thereof.
SECTION 2: It shall be the duty of the Street Qommissi over
of the City of Edmonds to inspect all lots and parcels of lard and

the street alleys and highways of the City of Edmonds, and weer theme
said noxious weeds, thistles, r_ettles, etc., are found either on
private property or on the bordering streets, alleys or highways
to notify the owner, lessee, occupant, agert or other person having
the care or charge of such property or abutting property, to destroy
the same, giving a reasonable time to do so.
SECTIOL 3: In case ary owner, lessee, occupant, agent or other r��y�
person having the care or charge of property on which noxious weeds, lvtr
thistles, nettles, etc.,are growing refuses or fails to destroy
same within the time mentioned iL the r:otice they shall be deuced
to be in violation of this Ordinance.
SECTION 4: Such notices shall be served in writing upon the

owner, lessee, occupant, agent or other persons having in charge
such property on which noxious weeds, thistles,nettles,ete., are
found, in person, or if they be nonresidents by mailing a copy of
the notice to their last known address, or if they or their address
be unknown by posting a copy of the notice on the property.
SECTION 5: Any person violating any provisions of this Ordi-f
nance shall be zub ject to arrest and a fine not less than $5.00
nor more than $10.00.
SECTION 6: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and publication according to law.
