An Ordinance relating to and providing for the licensing ar_a
regulating of darting in cafes; providing for the revocation of e a4/V"4f
licenses; repealing of Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in con-
flict herewith.
The City of Edmonds does ordain
SECTIU 1: It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or cor-
poration to allow or permit dancing in any hotel, restaurad:t or
cafe open for service to the public in the City of Edmonds unless
the owner or manager has a valid and subsisting license so to do
to be kr..owr as a cafe dance licer_se.
SECTIO1. 2: Thy, fee for a cafe dance license shall be, and
the same is, hereby fixed.at the sum of w25.00 per annum.
SECTIOL' 3: Closing hours, health and fire restrictions, con-
cd
duct of patrons, light of rooms and all general and special regu-
latiors of the existing Ordixr aces of the City of Edmonds relat-
ing to dances and dancing aria as regard morality and decency shall
be effective as to and govern dances it hotels, restaurants and
cafes, except as herein otherwise provided.
SECTION, 4: Lo dancir_g will be permitted it any cafe in the 01,4 �'.
City of Edmonds which is located it ary basement, sub -basement or `'�
any room below the surface of the ground, which room does rot
have a stairway issuing therefrom and leading directly to a public
Street or alley.
SECTIO1 5: It shall be unlawful for the owner of ary cafe 1�
where dancing is carried or, his agent or employee, to refuse ad !qtl�,�xl'
mission. to any public officer for the purpose of irspectir:g such
cafe to see if the Ordinances of the City of Edmonds with refer-60
erce to health, regulatiors , preverti or of five hazard,, ar-d mor-
ality and decency it said Uity are beirg complied with in said
cafe.
SECTIOE 5-6i It shall be unlawful for ary person, firm,
or corporation, to allow or permit dareing ir ary hotel, restaur-
art, or cafe it the City of Edmonds between the hours of one
o'clock A.M. and eight o'clock k.M. or arty day of the week.
SECTIOL 6: Any holder of a cafe dax:ce licersq,whQ shall he
found guilty of the violation of any provision of this Ordinance, v
or of the provie ions of any Ordinances of the City of Edmonds or
the laws of the State of Washington relating to irtoxicatir_g to
liquors,ehall have his said license immediately cancelled and
revoked.
SECTIOr 7: Any person violating or failing to comply with
any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of
a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fItly,
fire in any sum not exceeding One Hurdred ($100.00) Dollars or by
imprisonment in the City jail for not exceeding thirty (30) days,
or by both such fire and imprisonment.
SECTIOLN 8: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances it conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
