An Ordinance providing a system for the numbering of houses
in the City of Edmonds.
Be it ordained by the City of Edmonds:
SECTION 1: The--e is hereby established a system for the uni-
form numberirg of ho::ses and other buildings in the City of Ed-
monds.
SECTIOL 2: Two base lines shall be established from which
said system of numbering shall commence;one such base line being
` fain Street, from Paget Sound to the East City limits, ands the
other base lire shall be First, or Front Street, from the p orth
City limits to the Sbuth City limits.
R SECTIOI. 3: Commexcing from each base line the houses, or
f r other buildings, on the right shall be given even numbers and

those on the left side of the Street shall be given odd numbers.'
The numbers in the first block from such base lines will start
with One Hundred (100), in the second Block from Two Hundred
(200), the next Three Hundred (300), et cetera. Unused numbers
will be dropped at each regularly established through Street.

the left and Two ( 2 ) on the right side of the Street and will
continue without break to the shore of Puget Sound.
For uniformity in numbering each Twenty (20) feet on either
side of the Street, exclusive of alleys, will be considered as
entitled to a number, whether occupied or not. In Blocks havingpe*1,6
an unequal frontage on the opposite sides of the Street the
number will start on the side having the most frontage and num-
bers or, the opposite side will be so arranged that approximately
equal numbers are opposite each other.
SECTIOT 4: West of Front Street the prefix 'West' will be 6J�Qb
used before the number, and Forth of Main Street the prefix
'Forth' will apply before the number. Lo prefixes will be re-
quired for numbers South from Main Street or East from Front
Street.
SEC210L .5: In the interest of uniformity all house or other,
buildir rumb erg will be at 1 east two and one-half (22) inches

and v-.11 consist of a light figure on a dark background.
SECTIOr 6: Hereafter all Streets running East and West it
the City of Edmonds will be designated 'streets' and all Streets
running forth and South will be designated 'avenues'.
