an Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 507, of the City of Edmonds
relating to vehicles and the operation thereof upon the pudic st-
reets and other public places of said City, by adding thereto., a new
Section to be known as Section 262 relating to negligent driving.
THE CITY OV EDUONDS DOES ORDULID :
Section 1: That Ordinance No.507, of the City of Edmonds, relating
to vehicles and the operation thereof upon the public streets and
other public places, in said city, be and the same is hereby amended
by adding thereto a new Section to be known as Section 262f reading
as follows;
"Section 263: It shall be unlawful fot any
person to operate a motor vehicle in a negligent
manner, over and aling any public street orother
public place in the City of Edmonds. For the
purpose of this Section to "operate in a negligent
manner" shall be construed to mean the operation of
a vehicle upon the streets or other publice places
of the City of Edmonds in such a manner as to
endanger or be likely to endanger any persons
or property.
The offence of operation a vehicle in a
negligent manner shall be considered to be a
lesser offence than, but included in, the offense
Of @J�ekating a vehicle in a reckless manner, and
any person charged with operating a vehicle in
a reckless manner may be convicted of the lesser
offense of operating a vehicle in a negligent
manner. No drivers licebse shall be revoked for
a violation of this Section."
Section 2: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force and effect on its passage and publication as required by
law.
