AN ORDINANCE creating a revolving fund to be known as "Sidewalk
Construction Fund', specifying the moneys to be placed therein, providing
for the expenditure thereof and declaring an emergency.
• WHEREAS, at the time the present annual budget for the City of
Edmonds was passed, an adequate sum for all reasonable purposes was
budgeted, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted an amendment to the City
Code whereby a revolving fund will be necessary to finance the repair, con-
struction and reconstruction of sidewalks within the City of Edmonds, and
WHEREAS, the provisions to finance the same could not reasonably
have been foreseen at the time the budget was prepared,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDMONDS DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That the City of Edmonds hereby esta-lishes a revolving
fund to be known as 'Sidewalk Construction Fund into which shall be placed
all funds and revenues appropriated and all ated to the same.
Section 2. An emergency is hereby declared to exist with regard
to certain sidewalk areas wit`tin the City of Edmonds and there are no
funds budgeted to pay for the said repairs.
Section 3. The City Treasurer is hereby directed to issue an
emergency warrant in the amount of $3, 000 and place the same in the
• fund so set up.
Section 4. Said "Sidewalk Construction Fund' shall be used for the
purpose of temporarily financing the various sidewalk construction fund
districts established under authority of Chapter 177, Laws of 1949, State
of Washington.
Sectioa 5. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and
publication as required by law.
