AN ORDINANCE: PROVI DING FUNDS FOR CITY PARTI CIPATION IN INSTALLA-
TION OF SEWERS UNDER LOCAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 107 OF THE
CITY OF EDMONDSI,_AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, at a regular meeting of the City Council oft be City of Edmonds
held on January 23, 1962, the City agreed to participate in a local improvement
is district for the installation of sewers on Admiral Way and Dayton Streets in the
City, at an approximate cost to the City of $5200.00, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution of Intention No. 155 passed by the City
Council on December 19. 1961, Local Improvement District No. 107 was created
by Ordinance No. 919 passed by the City Council on January 23, 1962, providing
for the installation of said sewers, and
WHEREAS, the funds for city participation in such improvements are pro-
vided by Ordinance No. 773, passed on June 7, 1959, providing for issuance of
bonds to obtain the funds with which to pay the cost of carrying out a system or
plan of additions to and betterments and extensions of the waterworks utility of
the City of Edmonds, including the sewerage system as a part thereof, and
WHEREAS, such funds are presently in the Water Construction Fund of
the City of Edmonds, and
WHEREAS, at the time the 1963 budget for the City of Edmonds was passed,
no provision, was made therein for City participation in this particular improve-
ment, the need for such specific provision being unknown to the City, and
WHEREAS, the said sum of $5200.00 and accumulated interest thereon
was expended under local improvement district No. 107 and must be provided
• for, and
WHEREAS, since no funds were budgeted therefor, an emergency exists
with respect to the repayment thereof,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS
DOES ORDAIN:

Section 1. The City of Edmonds shall reimburse local improvement
District Fund No. 107 in the sum of $5200.00, plus interest accrued to date
of payment, as the City's agreed participation in such local improvement district.
Section 2. The City Treasurer of the City of Edmonds is hereby di-
rected to issue a check or warrant in payment of said sum, upon presentation
0 of an approved voucher, from the Water Construction Fund, pursuant to the
provisions of ordinance number 773 of the City of Edmonds.
Section 3. The said sum of $5200.00, plus interest accrued to date of
payment, shall be set up as an addition to the funds provided by the 1963 bud-
get for expenditure from the Water Construction Fund.
Section 4. An a.-nergency is hereby declared to exist with regard to
payment of the aforesaid sum, as the necessity therefor was not forseen and
no funds were budgeted t • pay for the same.
Section 5_ This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its pass-
age and publication as required by law.
