AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
RELATING TO FIREMEN'S RELIEF AND PENSIONS, CREATING
A FIIcEMEN' S RELIEF' AND PENSION SYSTEM, AND CRE:.TING
A FIREMEN'S PENSION BOARD, IN CONFORMITY WITH THE
REVISED CODE OF WASHINGTON.
THE CITY COUNCII. OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
• ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Edmonds City Code is hereby amended pursuant
to Chapters 41.16 and 41.18 of the Revised Code of Washington by
adding to said Code a new chapter, Chapter 1.27, which shall read
as follows:
1.27.010 Edmonds Firemen's Pension Boar? Created.
There is hereby created the Edmonds Fireman's Pension
Board to consist of the following five members: the Mayor,
who shall be Chairman of the Board; the City Clerk; the City
Treasurer; and two regularly employed firemen elected by
secret ballot of the firemen. The first members to be elected
by the firemen shall serve for a term of one and two years,
respectively, and their successors shall be elected annually
for a two-year term. The two firemen so elected shall,
in turn, sclurt .7 third fireman who shall ^ervv as an alternate
in the event of absence of one: of the regularly clucted fire -
Merl.
1.27.020 Secretary of Board. The Board may select and
appoint a s.cretary who may, but need not be, a member of the
Board.
1..27.030 Chairman Prcr Temporc In case of absence of
inability of thQ Chairmen to act, the Board may select a
Chairman pre) tempore who shall during such absence or inability
perform them duties and exercise the powers of the Chairman.

Section 2. This Ordinan � shall take full force and effect
five days after its passage and publication as required by law.
