AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY TO
THE CITY OF EDMONDS UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF LAWS
OF 1965, R.C.W. 35.13.125, SECTION 35.13.130,
• SECTION 35.13.140 and SECTION 35.13.150, AS AMEND-
ED, AND COMPLYING WITH THE PROCEDURE THEREIN SET
FORTH.
WHEREAS the City of Edmonds, has received a Petition for
Annexation of certain real property, the legal description of
which is set forth below, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmorrb has deter-
mined that the City will require the assumption of existing
City indebtedness by the area to be annexed, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has set the date of April 4,
1967, as the date for public hearing thereon and caused due
and proper notice of said hearing to be posted and published,
and
WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Edmonds caused the Bo-r_d
of Review to be convened and to meet on March 20, 1967, and
caused due and proper notice of said meeting to be given, and
WHEREAS, tie Board of Review determined that the property
proposed to be annexed is of such character that the annexation
would be in the public interest and for the public welfare, and
in the best interest of the City of Edmonds, the County of Sno-
homish and other political subdivisions affected, now, therefore,
• THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There has been filed with the City Council
of the City of Edmonds, a Petition in writing signe_1 by the
owners of more than 75% in value, according to the assessed
valuation for general taxation, of the property for which
annexation was petitioned; that said Petition sets forth a
legal description of said real property; that said Petition was
accompanied by a plat or drawing outlining the boundaries of
property sought to be annexed; that said Petition set forth
• the fact that the City Coun^41 of the City of Edmonds required
the assumption of City indebtedness by the area requested to
be annexed; that prior to the filing of said Petition the City
Council had indicated the tentative approval of such annexation.
Section 2. Tuesday, April 4, 1967, was set as a date for
public hearing on said Petition; Notice of such hearing was pub-
lished in the Edmonds Tribune Review, a newspaper of general
circulation in the City of Edmonds; notice of such hearing was
also posted in three public places within the territory proposed
for annexation; that said notice specified the time and place
of such hearing and invited interested persons to appear and
voice approval or disapproval of the annexation.
Section 3. The Territory proposed by said Petition to be
annexed to said City of Edmonds is situate in the County of
Snohomish in the State of Washington, is contiguous, proximate
and adjacent to the present corporate limits of said City, and
is particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner of Tract 134, Plat
of Meadowdale Beach; thence north along the east city
limits line of the City of Edmonds to the northwest
corner of Lot 1, Double DD Ranch Addition No. 2; thence
easterly along the south boundary of Tract 115 and
Tract 114, Plat of Meadowdale Beach and the south end
of 64th Avenue West to Olympic View Drive, the westerly
• boundary line of the City of Lynnwood; thence south-
easterly along the westerly city limits line of the
City of Lynnwood to its intersection with the south
boundary of the Meadowdale Beach Rjad; thence north-
westerly to the north boundary of 174th Street S.W. (the
south boundary of Tract 134); thence westerly to the
point of beginning.
Section 4. The Territory set forth in this Ordinance and
for which said Petition for Annexation is filed, should be

and is hereby made a part of the City of Edmonds.
Section 5. Pursuant to the terms of the Annexation Petition,
all property within this territory annexed hereby shall be
assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the same basis as
property within the City of Edmonds for any now outstanding
• indebtedress of said City, including assessments or taxes
in payment of any bonds issued or debts contracted, prior to
or existing at the date of annexation.
Section 6. The area annexed hereby shall become a part
of the City of Edmonds, and this Ordinance shall take effect
and be in force, on the 15th day of May, 1967.
