AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDSO WA SHINGTON,r
ESTABLISHING A SPECIAL LIBRARY FUND TO CONSIST
OF MONIES CONTRIBUTED BY CITIZENS FOR LIBRARY
AND AWARD PURPOSES AND ACCEPTING CONTRIBUTIONS THEREFOR.
WHEREAS,, the Board of Trustees of the public library of
the City of Edmonds has received a contribution in money as
a gift for the purpose of bettering the services of the
library, making awards and
WHEREAS, said money has been deposited in the current
Expense Fund of said city and a separate fund should be es-
tablished and accounted for by the City, now therefore,

ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.44.050. Acceptance of Monies for Special
Library Fund. The City Council of the City of Edmonds hereby
accepts for and on behalf of said city voluntary contributions
made to the city board of trustees of the public library for
the purpose of bettering the services of the library and
making awards and will accept said funds in the future, provided,
such monies may be used only for said purposes, and in no event
shall any award be made to an employee of said city, or any
person serving on any board, council, commission or other
agency of said city, or to members of their immediate families.
Section 1.44.060 Establishment of Special Library Fund.
There is hereby established a "Special Library Fund" into
which fund will be deposited any and all voluntary contribu-
tions made for the purposes of bettering library services and
making awards by the board of trustees of the public library
of the City of Edmonds. The City Clerk is hereby directed to
transfer from the Current Expense Fund into the Special Library
Fund the sum of $903.12, which sum is the amount of a past
contribution together with the accrued interest thereon.
Section 1.44.070 Administration of Special Library
Fund. The board of trustees of the public library of the City
of Edmonds shall from time to time as they deem appropriate,
recommend expenditures from the Special Library Fund for the
purposes for which said fund was established, Such recommen-
dations will be made in open meeting of the board of trustees
and duly recorded in the minutes of said board after which a
city claim voucher will be certified by the chairman of said
board and presented with the regular monthly claims for author-
ization for payment by the City Council.
