AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
PROHIBITING BENCH SIGN ADVERTISING AND PROVIDING
FENAUrTE'S EY THE ADOPTION OF THREE IMM., SECTIONS
TO THE 1EDMONDS SIGN CODE, CHAPTER 11.36 OF THE
EDMONDS CITY CODE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY' Or, EDMONDS, IfASHINGTON
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
There are hereby adopted three new sections to the
Sign Code of the Edmonds City Code:
Section 11.36.080 Bench signs prohibited. Notwithstanding
any other provision of the Edmonds City Code, it shall be unlaw-
ful for any person., persons, partnership, corporation or any
other group or organization to advertise or display any visually
communicated message, by letter or pictorally, of any kind or
description by displaying the same on any seating bench, or
appurtenant to., or in direct . connection with, any such bench,
when said advertising or visually communicated message by letter
or pictorally is visible from or d1rected toward any public
right -of... -way or other public place.
Section 11.36.082 Abatement. Any and all such signs or
communications prohibited by Section 11.36,080 of the Edmonds
City Code shall be removed within sixty (60) days of the
effective date of this ordinance.
Section 11.36.084 Penalties. Any person or persons,
including partners or officers of any corporation or other
group or organization, -who violates Section 11.36.080 or
Section 11.36.082 of the Edmonds City Code shall be subject
to a fine of not to exceed $500.00 for each separate day of
violation, or imprisonment not to exceed ninety (90) days
in jail, or both.
