AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING THE BUILDING CODE FOR SAID CITY BY THE
ADOPTION OF THE 1976 EDITION OF THE UNIFORM
BUILDING CODE, (EXCLUDING CHAPTER 51 OF THE
APPENDIX) AND THAT CERTAIN VOLUME ENTITLED "UNI-
FORM BUILDING CODE STANDARDS," 1976 EDITION, AND
AMENDING SECTIONS 11.02.060 AND 11.02.066 OF THE
EDMONDS CITY CODE.
WHEREAS the following amendments to the Building
Code are in the best interests of the public health, safety
and general welfare, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The 1976 Edition of the Uniform Build-
ing Code and the 1976 Edition of the Uniform Building Stand-
ards, three copies of which have been and now are on file in
the office of the City Clerk, are hereby adopted as the
Uniform Building Code for the City of Edmonds by amending
Section 11.02.010 of the Edmonds City Code to read as
follows:
"11.02.010 Uniform Building Code Adopted by Reference_.
That certain printed code, three copies of which -
are and have been on file in the office of the
city clerk, for the use and examination of the
public, being marked, printed and designated as
the Uniform Building Code, 1976 Edition, (specifi-
cally including all appendices except the appendix
to Chapter 51) and that volume entitled Uniform
Building Code Standards, 1976 Edition, all copy-
righted in 1976 by the International Conference of
Building Officials, is adopted by reference and
incorporated herein as if fully set forth within
this chapter, as the building code of the City of
Edmonds, subject to the modifications and amendments
hereinafter set forth and the code, as adopted,
shall regulate the erection, construction, enlarge-
ment, alteration, repair, moving, removal, conver-
sion, demolition, occupancy, equipment, use,
height, area and maintenance of buildings or
structures in the city; and further provides for
the issuance of permits and collection of fees
therefor`; providing penalties for the violation of
such code; and each and all of the regulations,
provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of the
Uniform Building Code herein mentioned and as
amended and on file in the office of the city
clerk is established, pursuant to the laws of the
State of Washington as the building code in and
for the city.
Section 2. Section 11.02.060 of the Edmonds City
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"11.02.060 Interpretation. Whenever provisions
of this chapter and the uniform codes adopted
herein, conflict with the provisions of the Ed-
monds zoning code contained in Title 12 of this
code, the provisions of the zoning code shall
control.
Section 3. Section 11.02.066 of the Edmonds City
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"11.02.066 Establishment ofplan-check fees for
single-familyresidences--Establishment of fence permit,
housing compliance inspection and moving permit fees.
Section 303(b) of the Uniform Building Code,
adopted by Section 11.02.010 of this chapter, is
amended to establish a plan -check fee for group I
and group J occupancies in an amount equal to one-
tenth of one percent of the building valuation.
There is established the following fees for the
permits as set forth:
Fence permit ............................... $2.00;
Housing compliance inspection ..............$25.00;
Relocation of building (moving permit) .....$10.00.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force
and effect five days after passage and publication by posting
as provided by law.
