AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
REPEALING SECTIONS OF THE EDMONDS CITY CODE RELATING
TO SIGNS ERECTED BEFORE MAY 22, 1978.
WHEREAS, the City Council has by Ordinance No.
1994 passed on May 16, 1978, enacted a Comprehensive Sign
Code which regulates signs for which a permit is applied
after May 22, 1978, and
WHEREAS, the existing regulations contained in the
Edmonds City Code relating to signs are no longer necessary
except for the requirements set forth in Section 12.15.130
of the Edmonds City Code, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The following sections of the Edmonds
City Code are hereby repealed:

12.13.160(b)

Whenever another section of the Edmonds City Code follows
a section repealed herein, the word "Reserved" shall
be inserted in place of the section repealed.
Section 2. Section 12.13.200(a) of the Edmonds
City Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"(a) All uses, except public utility installations,
shall conform to the general provisions and exceptions
concerning off-street parking and loading area standards
of number, area, surface, screening, and maintenance
as required by Chapter 12.14 of this code;"
Section 3. All signs erected prior to May 22,
1978, shall comply with the provisions of Section 12.15.130
of the Edmonds City Code and nothing herein shall be deemed
to affect the requirements set forth therein.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force
and effect five days after passage and publication by posting
as required by law.
