AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 1.12.010(2) OF THE EDMONDS CITY
CODE TO ESTABLISH A FOUR YEAR TERM FOR MEMBERS OF
THE PARKING COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that standardizing
the terms of office of all boards and commissions at four
years will enable the boards and commissions to serve the
City and the members of the public more efficiently, and,
thus, will be in the best interests of the public health,
safety and general welfare, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 1.12.010(2) of the Edmonds
City Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"(2) Term of Membership. In order that
the fewest number of terms will expire in any one
year, the terms of the appointed members shall
expire on May 1 of the year set opposite said
position number, as follows:

City Council Member
Thereafter, the term of the members of the parking
commission shall be for four years, except for the
City Council member whose term shall coincide with
the member's term of office. No person shall be
appointed to serve more than two full terms -;on the
commission. An appointment to fill a vacancy for
less than two years shall not constitute a full
term for the purposes of this section."
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force

and effect five days after passage and publication by posting
as provided by law.
