Ordinance 26680006.03006 WFS505300 03/31/88 WSS/naa ORDINANCE NO. 2668 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE PROVISIONS OF ECC 2.35.030(C) RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF VACATION SCHEDULES, THE PROVISIONS OF ECC 2.35.060(A) 6 (A) TO PROVIDE FOR SICK LEAVE CAPS FJR REPRESENTED EMPLOYEES AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. ECC 2.35.030 relating to lacations, subparagraph ,C) relating to the establishment of vacation schedules, is he-eby amended to read as follows: lc nln vim.- 4-;­ C. Vacation schedules shall be established within each department subject to the approval of the department's manager. Such schedules shall be consistent with the orderly provision of services to the citizens of the city. Section 2. ECC 2.35.060 Sick Leave is hereby amended to read as follows: 2.35.060 Sick Leave. A. Represented employees shall accrue sick leave at the rate and to the maximum established :n the respective collective bargaining agreements. Nor. - represented employees shall accrue sick leave at the rate of one working day for each full calendar month of the employee's continuous service. The maximum amount of accrued sick leave shall not exceed 1,00r hours for such non -represented employees. WSS505300 -1- B. Upon honorable termination, unused sick leave shall be paid to non -represented employees at a rate eq,ial to one-half of the reqular rate of pay at the date of termination to a maximum of 800 hours. In the event of the death of an employee, the payment for unused sick leave shall be paid to the surviving spouse or to she estate of the decedent if there is no surviving spouse. Honorable termination means resignation or lay-off due to lack of work or funding and shall not include any discharge for cause. In the event that further or conflicting terms are established by the provision of collective bargaining agreements, such provisions shall control such payments to represented employees in accordance with their respective collective bargaining agreement. Section 3.
