Ordinance 26870006.90000 WSS/jib 10/05/88 ORDINANCE NO. 2687 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE PROVISIONS OF ECC 3.24.020 (C) RELATING TO AMUSEMENT GAMES IN ORDER TO REGULATE THE OPERATION OF CRANE AND CLAW GAMES AND AFFIXING THE TIME ON THE SAME SHALL BECOME AFFECTIVE. WHEREAS, The Washington State Gambling Commission has provided for a test of Crane and Claw Games at limited locations; WHEREAS, such forms of gambling fall within the type of gambling enterprises regulated by RCW Chapter 9.46 and ECC Chapter 3.24; WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the regulation of such devices through their registration and the establishment of a reasonable fee to compensate the City for its regulatory expense is appropriate, Now, Therefore; THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 3.24.020 the Edmonds City Code, paragraph C is hereby amended to read as follows: 3.24.020 PERSONS SUBJECT TO TAX -TAX RATE C. Amusement games shall not be subject to the levy of a tax, provided, however, that special amusement games, and particularly Crane and Claw games, authorized for operation under the provisions of Washington Administrative Code section 230-20-699 as the same exists or shall hereafter be amended, shall be subject to the levy of a tax in WSS509040 -1- the amount of 21 of the gross receipts directly attributable to the operation of said Crane or Claw games; Section 2.
