ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 8.05.040 OF THE EDMONDS CITY
CODE TO ADOPT BY REFERENCE RCW 46.37.430,
INCLUDING ALL FUTURE AMENDMENTS THERETO,
REGARDING SAFETY GLAZING MATERIALS IN MOTOR
VEHICLES AND THE APPLICATION OF TINTING OR
COLORING MATERIAL TO MOTOR VEHICLE WINDOWS, AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, state statutes with regard to motor vehicle
window tinting have been updated with new legislation; NOW,
THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 8.05.040 of the Edmonds City Code
is hereby amended to read as follows:
8.05.040 STATE TRAFFIC STATUTES ADOPTED BY
REFERENCE
The following state traffic statutes,
including all future amendments, are adopted
as part of this code as if set forth in full:
E. RCW 46.37.430--Safety glazing materials
in motor vehicles --Application of tinting
or coloring material.
Section 2. If any section, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance should be held to be invalid or
unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such
invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity

or constitutionality of any other section, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance.
Section 3. This ordinance, being an exercise of a
power specifically delegated to the City legislative body, is not
subject to referendum, and shall take effect five (5) days after
passage and publication of the ordinance or a summary thereof
consisting of the title.
