ORDINANCE NO. 2906
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, LEVYING THE GENERAL TAXES FOR THE
CITY OF EDMONDS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING
JANUARY 1, 1993, ON ALL PROPERTY, BOTH REAL
AND PERSONAL, IN SAID CITY WHICH IS SUBJECT TO
TAXATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING SUFFICIENT
REVENUE TO CARRY ON THE SEVERAL DEPARTMENTS OF
SAID CITY FOR THE ENSUING YEAR AS REQUIRED BY
LAW, AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BE
EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds, having
considered the City's anticipated financial requirements for 1993,
and the amounts necessary and available to be raised by ad valorem
taxes on real, personal and utility property, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There shall be and hereby is levied on all
real, personal and utility property in the City of Edmonds, subject
to taxation, current taxes for the ensuing year commencing January
1, 1993, the sum of $3,825,470.00, which is $1.79684 per $1,000 of
assessed valuation levied on property with an estimated assessed
valuation of $2,128,997,666.00 of all said taxable property, for
the Current Expense Funds and for the Firemen's Pension Fund as may
be necessary to maintain the actuarial soundness of said Firemen's
Pension Fund, if any be needed.
Section 2. There shall be and is hereby levied current
taxes of $840,000.00, which is .394551 cents per $1,000 of assessed

valuation levied on property with an estimated assessed valuation
of $2,128,997,666.00 of all said taxable property, the purpose of
which is to fund the provision of emergency medical care and
services.
Section 3. In addition to the above levies for the
ensuing fiscal year of 1993, there shall be and is hereby levied
current taxes of $8,580.55 to be refunded to GTE pursuant to
judgment order entered in GTE Northwest v. Dept of Revenue, such
amount representing the proportionate contribution due from the
City of Edmonds.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be certified to the
proper County officials, as provided by law, and taxes here levied
shall be collected and paid to the Administrative Services Director
of the City of Edmonds at the time and in the manner provided by
the laws of the State of Washington for the collection of taxes for
non -charter code cities.
Section 5. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power
specifically delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject
to referendum, and shall take effect five (5) days after passage
and publication of the ordinance or a summary thereof consisting of
the title.
