ORDINANCE NO. 31,00
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE PROVISIONS OF
SECTIONS 16.50.010(A)(7) AND 16.60.010(D)(1) TO DELETE
A SUPERSEDED SUNSET CLAUSE AND FIXING A TIME
WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, the City initially enacted a provision for community - oriented open
air markets with a sunset clause in order to provide for a test period to evaluate the impact of
the use on the community, and
WHEREAS, in 1995, the City Council by separate action made ongoing provision
for community- oriented open air markets, and
WHEREAS, in the course of Code revision, the sunset date has not been removed
from the description of uses permitted in the community business (BC) zoned secondary
conditional use in the general commercial zone (CG), NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Edmonds Community Development Code, Section 16.50.010(A)(7)
relating to uses permitted in the community business (BC) zone, is hereby amended to read as
follows:

16.50.010 Uses.
A. Permitted Primary Uses.
(7) Community - oriented open air markets conducted as an
outdoor operation and licensed pursuant to provisions in the
Edmonds City Code.
Section 2. Edmonds Community Development Code Section 16.60.010(D)(1)
relating secondary conditional uses in the general commercial (CG) zone, is hereby amended to
read as follows:
10.50.010 Uses.
D. Uses Requiring A Conditional Use Permit.
(1) Community - oriented open air markets conducted as an outdoor
operation and licensed pursuant to provision in the Edmonds City
Code.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an administrative action, is not
subject to referendum and shall take effect five (5) days after publication.
