Ordinance 31350006.160.076 PAO /maz 02/28/97 02/28/97maz 02/04/97gjz ORDINANCE NO. 3135 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, AMENDING EDMONDS CITY CODE 8.51.030 IN ORDER TO ADD PORTIONS OF THIRD AVENUE N., SECOND AVENUE S., ALDER STREET AND ADMIRAL WAY TO THE EDMONDS EMPLOYEE PERMIT PARKING PROGRAM, AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE. WHEREAS, in August 1996 the Edmonds City Council adopted the Edmonds Employee Permit Parking Program, and WHEREAS, the purpose of the Edmonds Employee Permit Parking Program is to provide more parking to the general public in high - demand parking areas by encouraging Edmonds business owners and employees to park in lower- demand parking areas, and WHEREAS, the Edmonds City Council has found the Edmonds Employee Permit Parking Program to be a successful program, and WHEREAS, the Edmonds City Council has determined that the addition of the streets identified in this Ordinance to the Edmonds Employee Permit Parking Program would help the Program to become even more effective, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. ECC 8.51.030(B)(11) is amended and ECC 8.51.030(B)(19) - (21) are hereby added to the Edmonds City Code to provide as follows: 155685 -1- B. An employee parking permit shall be effective in the three - hour parking areas located along the following streets: 11. Both sides of Third Avenue N. from Bell Street to a point 265.5 feet north of its intersection with Edmonds Street. 19. Both sides of Second Avenue S. from Dayton Street to its dead end, located south of Alder Street. 20. Both sides of Alder Street between its intersections with Second Avenue S. and Third Avenue S. 21. Both sides of Admiral Way from its intersection with Dayton Street and south thereof to the end of the public right -of -way (approximately 2,300 feet). Section 2. Severability. If any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance should be held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of any other section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance. Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifi- cally delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect five (5) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of the title.
