Ordinance 31360006.900000 PAO /maz 02/27/97 02/27/97maz 02/28/97maz ORDINANCE NO. 3136 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, ADDING NEW SUBSECTIONS TO EDMONDS CITY CODE 8.64.060 IN ORDER TO LIMIT PARKING TO THREE HOURS ON BOTH SIDES OF (1) SECOND AVENUE S. FROM DAYTON STREET TO ITS DEAD END, (2) ALDER STREET BETWEEN SECOND AND THIRD AVENUE S. AND (3) THIRD AVENUE NORTH FROM EDMONDS STREET TO 265.5 FEET NORTH THEREFROM, AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE. WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that in order to make parking more available to the general public that more City streets must be limited to three -hour parking, and WHEREAS, the Edmonds City Council finds that cars are parked for extensive periods of time on the streets identified in this Ordinance, thereby necessitating a three -hour parking limitation, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. ECC 8.64.060(31) - (32) are hereby added to the Edmonds City Code, and ECC 8.64.060(8) is hereby amended as follows: 8.64.060 SCHEDULE VI - PARKING LIMITED ON CERTAIN STREETS In accordance with Section 8.48.160, and when signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person shall park a vehicle for a period of time longer than three hours between the hours of 8:00 a.m. 155613 -1- and 6:00 p.m. of any day except Sundays and public holidays within the district or upon any of the streets as follows: 8. Both sides of Third Avenue N. from its intersection with Dayton Street to a point 265.5 feet north of its intersection with Edmonds Street. 31. Both sides of Second Avenue S. from Dayton Street to its dead end, located south of Alder Street. 32. Both sides of Alder Street between its intersection with Second Avenue S. and Third Avenue S. Section 2. Severability. If any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance should be held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of any other section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance. Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifi- cally delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect five (5) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of the title.
