ORDINANCE NO. 3162
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3161
CALLING A CONTINGENT ELECTION FOR THE PURPOSE
OF IMPOSING AN EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES LEVY
PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 84.52 RCW IN ORDER TO
AMEND THE PROPOSED BALLOT TITLE, AND FIXING A
TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 3161, the City of Edmonds called an election for
emergency medical services levy pursuant to chapter 84.52 RCW and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the public interest to clarify on
the ballot title the proposed uses of the funds, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. Section 2 of Ordinance 3161 is amended in, but only in the following

Section 2. Severability. If any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this
ordinance should be held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction,
such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of any other
section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifi-
cally delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect
five (5) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of the
title.
