ORDINANCE NO. 3172
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 3155,
PROVIDING FOR CLOSING OUT OF THE PROGRAM AND
THE RETURN OF ANY UNSPENT FUNDS TO THE
GENERAL FUNDS AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME
SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, the City of Edmonds established a program to assist low income
citizens who are unable to cover all or a portion of a transport fee imposed by Medic 7 for
emergency medical transport, and
WHEREAS, the City has since provided funding for such transport fees and the
fund is no longer necessary, and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to provide for an orderly process to close out the
fund, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 3155 is hereby repealed and the program established
thereby ended. No request for financial assistance shall be considered which relates to the
delivery of transport services on or after the date on which the City commenced paying transport
fees. Requests for grants and aid for services incurred before the date the City assumed
responsibility for transport fees may continue to be submitted, provided, however, that no such
requests shall be considered which are submitted after December 31, 1997. The Finance

Director is authorized to complete review of such applications for grants and aid, and report to
the Council when all such grants and aid have been approved, rejected or otherwise processed.
At such time, the Finance Director shall be authorized to close out Fund No. 010 and to transfer
unexpended funds to the general fund, reporting to the City Council the amount so transferred.
Section 2. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifi-
cally delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect
five (5) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of the
title.
