ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL STREET MAP
TO DELETE CERTAIN RIGHT -OF -WAY LOCATED AT
FOURTH AVENUE BETWEEN HOWELL WAY AND THE
SOUTHERN TERMINUS OF THE EXISTING FOURTH
AVENUE SOUTH RIGHT -OF -WAY SOUTH OF WALNUT
STREET IN THE CITY OF EDMONDS, AND FIXING A TIME
WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, a certain street right -of -way is shown on the City's official street
map, designating right -of -way to be acquired at some date in the future for the extension of
Fourth Avenue between Howell Way and the Southern Terminus of the existing Fourth Avenue
South right -of -way south of Walnut Street, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that there is no reasonable likelihood that this
street will be extended and the right -of -way acquired, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it appropriate to amend the official street map
to delete the planned line extension of Fourth Avenue, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Mayor through her designee is hereby authorized to bring
about amendment of the official street map to delete a portion of the planned line right -of -way of
Fourth Avenue in the City of Edmonds, shown on the attached Exhibit A, incorporated by this
reference as fully as if herein set forth.
Section 2. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifi-
cally delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect
five (5) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of the
title.

On the 21st day of April, 1998, the City Council of the City of Edmonds, passed
Ordinance No. 3210. A summary of the content of said ordinance, consisting of the title,
provides as follows:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE
OFFICIAL STREET MAP TO DELETE CERTAIN RIGHT -OF -WAY LOCATED AT
