ORDINANCE NO. 3221
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, REZONING CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 8517 -8529 238TH STREET S.W. FROM
SINGLE - FAMILY (RS -8) TO MULTI - FAMILY RESIDENTIAL
(RM -3), PROVIDING A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPERTY
AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME
EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, on May 5, 1998, the Edmonds City Council held a hearing regarding
the rezoning of certain property described in File No. R -98 -8 from single - family (RS -8) to
Multi- family residential (RM -3); and
WHEREAS, the property located at 8517 -8529 238th Street S.W. in the City of
Edmonds, Washington, lies in an area characterized by growth and has been designated for
multi - family residential uses in the City's Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the staff report and the evidence
submitted at public hearing indicates that the rezone would be in compliance with the state
Environmental Protection Act and the Edmonds Community Development Code and is necessary
in order to bring the property into compliance with the Edmonds Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the evidence introduced at the hearing indicated that the criteria of r
the Code has been met, no contrary evidence having been presented to the City Council, the
Edmonds City Council therefore finds that all the criteria established by the Edmonds
Community Development Code to rezone said real property have been met; NOW,
THEREFORE,

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Certain real property located at 8517 -8529 238th Street S.W.,
Edmonds, Washington, described in File No. R -98 -8 and Exhibit A, attached hereto and
incorporated by this reference as fully as if herein set forth, is hereby rezoned from single-
family (RS -8) to Multi - family residential (RM -3).
Section 2. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an administrative action, is not
subject to referendum and shall take effect five (5) days after publication.
