ORDINANCE NO. 3239
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING ORDINANCE 3110 AND THE
LIST OF THOSE MEETINGS QUALIFYING FOR COUNCIL
COMPENSATION OF CITY COUNCIL MEMBER
ATTENDANCE BY DELETING MEETINGS OF THE
CULTURAL ARTS AND CONVENTION DISTRICT AND
ADDING IN ITS PLACE THE CITY OF EDMONDS
MEDICAL SELF - INSURANCE ADVISORY COMMITTEE,
AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME
EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, members of the City Council receive both base compensation and
payment per public meeting attended in the performance of their duties, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has from time to time clarified those meetings
which qualify for compensation as an exercise of a City Council member's duties and
responsibilities subject to a maximum, and
WHEREAS, the City Council members no longer attend meetings of the Cultural
Arts and Convention District but are required to attend meetings of the City of Edmonds Medical
Self- Insurance Advisory Committee, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance Number 3110, Section La is hereby amended by the
removal of "Cultural Arts and Convention District" and the insertion of the "City of Edmonds
Medical Self- Insurance Advisory Committee."

Section 2. By this change the City Council hereby authorizes attendance at the
City of Edmonds Medical Self- Insurance Advisory Committee meetings, thereby authorizing
compensation for City Council members who attend such meetings in accordance with Ordinance
Number 3110 and prior ordinances clarifying and establishing the compensation method for
members of the City Council.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifi-
cally delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect
five (5) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of the
title.
