Ordinance 32680006.900000 WSS /gjz 7/2/99 ORDINANCE NO. 3268 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 1. PARAGRAPH 1.2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 3241 TO AUTHORIZE CLASSIFICATION ADJUSTMENT FOR NON - REPRESENTED EMPLOYEES IN A STATED RANGE $82 TO $446 PER MONTH, AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE. WHEREAS, a recommendation has been made to the City Council to adjust the classification and salaries of non - represented employees in accordance with a document known as The Human Resources Compensation Plan; and WHEREAS, the decision to implement those changes has been made by the City Council on a schedule consistent with the City's projected cash flow and revenues; WHEREAS, an unanticipated reduction in certain employee benefit related costs has made additional monies available within the City's appropriated salary budget; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it appropriate to accelerate its prior adopted schedule in light of these unanticipated cost reductions in the employee benefits area; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Ordinance No. 3241, Section 1, Paragraph 1.2 is hereby amended to read as follows: {WSS403776.DOC;1/00006.900000/} - I - 1.2 In addition, the Mayor is authorized to approve merit increases for employees listed in Exhibit A effective on the individual's anniversary date for the balance of the 1999 fiscal year. Such merit increases may range from zero percent up to five percent, but shall not exceed the employee's pay range. The Mayor is further authorized to adjust salary ranges and classifications pursuant to the recommendations of The Human Resources Compensation Plan as approved by the City Council in amounts from $82 to $446 per month, effective with the pay period next commencing following the adoption of this ordinance. Section 2. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifi- cally delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect five (5) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of the title.
