ORDINANCE NO. 3282
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE PROVISIONS OF
CHAPTER 4.72 BUSINESS LICENSE, 4.72.020 BUSINESS
LICENSE REQUIRED TO DELETE REQUIREMENT THAT
BUSINESS BE OPERATED FROM REAL ESTATE WITHIN
THE CITY, AMENDING THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION
4.72.040, SUBPARAGRAPHS (B), 1 THROUGH 3 TO
ESTABLISH A LICENSE FEE OF $25.00 FOR TRANSIENT
BUSINESS LICENSE FOR TRANSIENT BUSINESSES, AND
FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME
EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, the City of Edmonds currently licenses businesses that operate from
real estate located within the City of Edmonds, and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it appropriate to regulate and license
transient businesses which contract with or otherwise provide services in the City but do not
maintain an office or business premises within the City, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. ECC Section 4.72.020 Business License Required is hereby amended
to read as follows:
4.72.020 Business license required.
It shall be unlawful for any person to operate, engage in or practice
any business in the City of Edmonds without first having obtained
a business license from the City. If more than one business is
located on a single premises, a separate license shall be required
for each separate business conducted, operated, engaged in or
practiced.

Section 2. ECC Section 4.72.040 Fee — Terms — Penalty, paragraph B and the
subparagraphs thereof are hereby amended to read as follows:
4.72.040 Fee — terms — penalty.
B. Fees for an annual business license issued hereunder shall
be as follows:
1. The fee for an application for a new business license for
any business to be operated from real estate within the City of
Edmonds shall be $65.00;
2. The fee for an application for a new business license for
any other business conducted for, under contract with or by
providing services to any person within the City shall be $25.00;
and
3. The fee for an application for an annual renewal of a
business license shall be $25.00 for any business operated within
the City of Edmonds.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power
specifically delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take
effect five (5) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of
the title.
