Ordinance 33230006.900000 WSS /gjz 8/30/00 ORDINANCE NO. 3323 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE ANNUAL SALARY ORDINANCE NO. 3285 FOR BUDGET YEAR 2000, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 3316, AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE. WHEREAS, in accordance with state statute, the Edmonds City Council adopts an annual salary ordinance as part of each years' budgetary process; and WHEREAS, such an ordinance was adopted as Ordinance No. 3285 as amended by Ordinance No. 3316; and WHEREAS, the Mayor has requested additional appropriations in order to fund certain salary adjustments as a part of a non - represented salary plan to be funded with $30,000 from the City Council Contingency Plan Fund; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that in order to be competitive in today's tight job market, in order to prevent salary compression, and in order to maintain skilled, trained and experienced employees, the salary plan should be adopted and the 2000 budget salary ordinance amended; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The annual salary Ordinance No. 3285, as amended by Ordinance No. 3316, is hereby amended by the adoption of a new Exhibit A setting forth a salary matrix to be known as the L -5 Non - Represented Employees' Salary Plan. {WSS448488.DOC;1/00006.900000/} - 1 - Section 2. The City Council hereby appropriates $30,000 authorizing its transfer from the City Council Contingency Plan Fund to General Fund 001 in order to fund said salary increases. Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifi- cally delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect five (5) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of the title.
