ORDINANCE NO. 3346
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE PROVISIONS OF ECDC
21.55.050 LOT WIDTH TO INCORPORATE THE CONCEPT
OF "LOT WIDTH CIRCLES ", AND FIXING A TIME WHEN
THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, the Edmonds Planning board has recommended to the City Council
that the definition of "lot width" be amended to incorporate the concept of a lot width circle with
accompanying illustration, and
WHEREAS, the Edmonds City Council finds such an amendment to be consistent
with the provisions of the Comprehensive Plan and in the best interests of the health, safety and
welfare of its citizens, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Edmonds Community Development Code Section 21.55.050 Lot
idth is hereby amended to read as follows:
21.55.050 Lot width.
Lot width identifies the minimum diameter of a lot width circle
that must fit within a lot. This circle establishes that at least some
portion of a lot must be at least as wide as the minimum lot width.
The lot width circle shall not include Type 1 streams, Type 2
streams, Class 1 wetlands, and/or Class 2 wetlands. Examples
showing the application of lot width circles are illustrated below.

hereby incorporated by reference and shall be inserted by the Code
Codifier in Section 21.55.050 during the course of codification of
this provision.]

Section 2. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifi-
cally delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect
five (S) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of the
title.
