WASHINGTON, RENAMING CERTAIN FUNDS; CLOSING
CERTAIN FUNDS; AUTHORIZING TRANSFER OF FUND
BALANCES; AMENDING SECTIONS 3.05.030 AND 3.05.050
OF THE EDMONDS CITY CODE REGARDING THE
EQUIPMENT RENTAL FUND; AMENDING SECTION
3.29.017 OF THE EDMONDS CITY CODE REGARDING THE
PARKS IMPROVEMENT FUND; AND FIXING A TIME
WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, City staff has undertaken review of various funds maintained by the

Section 1. Section 3.05.030 of the Edmonds City Code is hereby amended to

Section 2. Section 3.05.050 of the Edmonds City Code is hereby amended to

3.05.050 Use of the fund.
The city of Edmonds shall purchase and sell all equipment((, except f r the fire
,)) by the use of such fund, subject to the laws
governing the purchase and sale of property. Such equipment shall be rented for
the use of the various offices and departments of the city and may be rented by the
city to other governmental agencies.
Section 3. Section 3.29.017 of the Edmonds City Code is hereby amended to
3.29.017 Creation of ( (PaFk aequisitioni iMffovement )) real estate excise tax
2 parks improvement fund.
There is hereby created a special fund to be known as the "((per
)) real estate excise tax 2 parks improvement fund," into
which shall be deposited all proceeds of the tax imposed by ECC 3.29.015.
Section 4. Closure of Fund 005 and Balance Transfer. The City Council hereby
closes Fund 005, Fire Apparatus, and directs that the balance be transferred to Fund 511,
Equipment Rental Fund.
Section 5. Closure of Fund 114. The City Council hereby closes Fund 114,
Street Beautification. There is no balance to transfer.
Section 6. Closure of Fund 115. The City Council hereby closes Fund 115,
Underground Wiring. There is no balance to transfer.
Section 7. Closure of Fund 124 and Balance Transfer. The City Council hereby
closes Fund 124, In Lieu of Parking, and directs that the balance be transferred to Fund 001,
General Fund parking enforcement reserve.
Section 8. Renaming Fund 125. The City Council hereby changes the name of
Fund 125, "Parks Acquisition Fund ", to "Real Estate Excise Tax 2, Parks Improvement Fund ".
Section 9. Renaming Fund 126. The City Council hereby changes the name of
Fund 126, "Special Capital Fund ", to "Real Estate Excise Tax 1, Parks Acquisition Fund ".

Section 10. Closure of Fund 135 and Balance Transfer. The City Council hereby
closes Fund 135, Public Assistance, and directs that the balance be transferred to Fund 411,
Combined Utility Fund.
Section 11. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifi-
cally delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect
five (5) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of the
title.
