ORDINANCE NO. 3540
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE EDMONDS CITY CODE
TO REPEAL CHAPTER 3.04 TRAVEL EXPENSE
PROCEDURES, AUTHORIZING CLOSURE OF THE. TRAVEL
EXPENSE FUND, AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME
SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, Chapter 3.04 of the Edmonds City Code establishes travel expense
procedures, and
WHEREAS, Section 3.04.030 delegates the Administrative Services Director the
responsibility to supervise the payment of travel expenses in accordance with rules established
by the state auditor's office,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds the existence of such rules and regulations
make the provisions of the chapter redundant and that better processes exist for the payment of
travel expenses, including but not limited to the use of credit cards as authorized by state statute
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
3.04.
Section 1. The Edmonds City Code is hereby amended by the repeal of Chapter
Section 2. The Administrative Services Director is authorized, in accordance
with the Mayor's administrative powers, to supervise travel expenses in accordance with the
rules and regulations established by the state auditor's office. In addition, the Administrative

Services Director is authorized to close such funds and report any fund balances in the course.of
the annual budget process.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifi-
cally delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect
five (5) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of the
title.
