ORDINANCE NO. 3541
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE PROVISIONS OF THE
EDMONDS CITY CODE SECTION 3.05.070 RENTAL
CHARGES - SCHEDULE IN ORDER TO INCORPORATE THE
ESTABLISHMENT AND ADJUSTMENT OF REASONABLE
RENTAL CHARGES AS PART OF THE ANNUAL BUDGET
PROCESS, AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL
BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, ECC 3.05.070 requires the City Council to approve schedules of
rental charges at regular meetings of the City Council, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the establishment of such charges and
reasonable rates of return should be incorporated in to the budget process in order to provide
better estimates of revenues and costs and to review such charges as a part of the overall budget
process, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Edmonds City Code Section 3.05.070 Rental Charges - Schedule
is hereby amended to read as follows:
3.05.070 . Rental charges - schedule.
There shall be paid monthly into the equipment rental fund out of
the monies available to the department using any such equipment,
which has hot been purchased by that department for its own use,
out of its own funds, reasonable rental charges fixed annually by
the City Council by approval of a schedule submitted by the
Administrative Services Director as a part of budget adoption. The
schedule shall be sufficient to cover the maintenance, operation
and replacement of said equipment as set forth in ECC 3.05.010,

the rental charges shall be reviewed annually in order to provide
for current and foreseeable needs of the equipment rental fund.
Section 2. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifi-
cally delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect
five (5) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of the
title.
